Malaysiakini: Kamunting, woof woof?

I've been busy with work so I've been out of the blogosphere for a while. You know, there's a funny thing. Everytime I get snowed under, something happens that just begs me to blog about it.

Okay, a lot of things have happened. Teresa Kok has been released and of course, the issue now is about the infamous 'dog food' comment where Teresa said the food served to her was just 'a little bit better than dog food'

Now, Teresa, I blogged in your support when you were detained but I just have to say this. You were detained under the ISA, Internal Security Act, the law used against communists, terrorists and people who piss off Mahathir.

What were you expecting? Kobe Beef Steak with Barbecue Sauce? Perhaps accompanied by a glass of Dom Perignon Champagne?

I laughed out loud when Teresa made that dog food comment on TV. Come on la. You can't complain about the food when you are in the ISA. ISA is not international gourmet festival. It's prison. Perhaps, with your status as MP, you were expecting something..well... something more but they burst your bubble with the boiled eggs.

Look, it may not be physical torture as the quality of the food is merely psychological torture. That's how the system works. In fact, a friend of mine in Thailand said Teresa was lucky to get eggs because in Thailand, sometimes all the hardcore prisoners get is stale bread and a little bit of water.

That's beside the issue. It is prison. Prison is supposed to punish. It is not punishment when you are served six meals a day. Prison is mean to be a deterrent, an harrowing experience that makes you think twice before you stick up the cashier at the 7-Eleven.

Face it. Prison is tough. It is supposed to be tough. Prison food is bad. It is supposed to be bad.

In my opinion, Teresa should not complain about the food quality. Challenge the grounds on which you were detained first. Why were you there in the first place? Who put you there? The balding, shiny headed Home Minister. ( Again, please, seriously consider a wig, we're getting too much glare)

You know, I know Kamunting in and out. I've passed the ISA detention God knows how many times. Kamunting is a nice little place, actually. And to think RPK is gonna spend 2 years (maybe more) there.

Mind you, Teresa, Pete has to eat the 'slightly better than dog food' for two years.

Anyhow, Pete's detention is unjust. To say he insulted Islam is to say Samy Vellu is a clean politician who has the people at heart. Pete tried to drum some common sense but unfortunately, some people's skulls are just too thick. I have to say if and when Anwar comes to power, the first thing he needs to do is release Pete and put a certain 83 year old retired politician who can't keep is mouth shut for five minutes without commenting on the nation's wellbeing in there. There, national security achieved, the 'pengacau daun' is locked up.

The only threat to national security are the politicians themselves. They needlessly complicate even the most simplest thing, which is stupid to say the least. I have an idea, instead of jailing bloggers, why don't we empty the Kamunting camp and fill them up with the politicians? I can guarantee you the nation would be much more peaceful when all the politicians are safely quarantined behind lock and key.

Try to imagine Malaysia without the politicians making a mockery of themselves. Try to imagine Malaysia without a bunch of pot bellied, balding and money grabbing politicians at the helm. Try to imagine a Malaysia without the politicians whose brain have been replaced with dollars and ringgits.

Truth is, Malaysia would be a heaven on earth.

Unfortunately for 51 years, politics have complicated this nation and the the truth is, Malaysia is kind of like Kamunting detention camp itself. Everything is isolated and secured behind lock and key. Bloggers tap the wrong key on the keyboard, send them to ISA! ISA this, ISA that.. Haihhh... Kerana nila setitik, rosak susu sebelanga. Understand? Because of the politicians, our nation has a bad reputation.

We have a great country. What we don't have is great politicians because politics on whole is like the sewerage system. It is the same everywhere. Politicians complicate, twist and ruin everything to suit their needs and their needs alone.

Understand that and you will understand what I am trying to say.
