Malaysiakini: Permatang Pauh polling on Aug 26, Anwar charged on Thursday?

Okay, okay, the buzz is official. Malaysiakini reports that the Permatang Pauh by-election will be held on August 26. This by-election will pit Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim against an yet to be named BN candidate, most likely from UMNO.
So, Aug 26 it is, for us to see the results. Two things can happen. Anwar would win by a landslide victory and true to his words would form the new Federal government with the help of party jumping MPs.
Of course, the other thing, though as unlikely as an alien space ship landing on your front yard but very much possible is that the BN candidate 'wins' and once the results had been announced, UTK would storm the building from helicopters ala SWAT, wearing full combat gear and bringing enough firepower to annihilate a small country, slap handcuffs on Anwar and take him to jail and subsequently a supposed 'trial'. At the same time, they could play rock, paper and scissors to decide if they should take Anwar to jail or take him up a lonely hill, wrap detonating cord and C4 around him and blow him to pieces, Mongolian style.

Allright, enough politics.

I have a rather disturbing news to talk about. Doubtless that many people would have heard of the news of a History teacher who ranted and raved racistly against the Indian students in SMK Telok Panglima Garang.
One can check The Star online for the news, the links are as as follows.

1: PARENTS UP IN ARMS OVER TEACHER'S RACIAL SLURS

2: TEACHER TO BE TRANSFERRED

Okay, the teacher deserved to be burned at the stake for what she said and no apology could appease the hurt. Our nation's leaders go on and on and on about 'sensitivity' and 'don't stir racial trouble' and on and on. However, isn't this a double standard here? She insults the Indian community, using word more suited to a crack whore than a teacher and all her punishment is getting transfered? Come one la..
In the earlier report, the Deputy Education Minister said the teacher might be sacked if the allegations were true. Now that the allegations are proven true, why isn't the teacher sacked? Why she is merely getting a slap on the wrist and being transferred? So she can continue to insult others somewhere else? She is a teacher, do we want racist teachers teaching our children? The government goes on and on about unity but employing teachers like this is a direct opposition to their own policy.
Which brings me to something else. Why is it whenever a government employee does something wrong, all the punishment they get is simply a transfer? The entire police station mired in the corruption allegation , where the junior complained that the seniors took the lions share of the bribes, they were transferred. What happened to the case? Died with the transfer? The OCPD of police who sodomized his junior, what happened to that case? Died with the transfer? The RM 98 million logistic fraud, what happened to the case? Being transfered? The RM 1 Million worth of syabu missing from police evidence locker in the Johor State police headquarters? What happened? The officers being transferred out?

Transfer, transfer, transfer. That's all? No wonder they are brave enough to do what they do.

Whenever something happens, all they get is a transfer out. Why? So they can continue their activities elsewhere? How stupid can the government be? Common sense does dictate innocent till proven guilty. However, the allegations are serious and these are people in power. The least they should do is suspend the officers until the investigation is complete, which is a standard procedure in many countries.
If we cannot trust our policemen, our men in blue who are turning out to be crooks in blue, where can we get justice? If the police themselves are engaging in sodomy, bribery, fraud and drugs, then who is there to uphold the law? Shouldn't they be in jail instead of being transfered out? Perhaps we should build a special 'police prison', built by the police for the police.

~~Sigh~~ Anyhow, latest news update from the Star online.
